Suffering from Acne? Here’s What You should do!

Chances are if you are a teenager that you are suffering from acne. And it isn’t a pleasant thing to experience or go through especially at an age when you are so concerned about your looks. Even young adults experience the same problem. No one likes those red blemishes that ooze puss and are stained red with sensitivity.

What causes it?

Acne is a stipulation of the skin that shows up as dissimilar types of bumps. These bumps can be whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, or even cysts. Teens and even young adults get acne because of the hormonal changes. Chances are if your parents had acne as teenagers, you too are subject to risk. The good news however is that, for the majority people, acne goes away almost wholly by the time they have outgrown their teenage years.

What You can Do?

To help put off the oil buildup that can have a say to the skin outburst viz acne, you should wash your face once or twice daily with a gentle soap and tepid water. Do not rub scrub your face hard with a washcloth. Acne can’t be scrubbed away. In fact, touching or scrubbing it will infect the area more causing more bumps to appear. Try avoiding harsh methods as these will only make matters worse. Try sanitizing your face as softly as you can.

If you wear cosmetics or sunscreen, make sure it is labeled or marked with “non comedogenic” or “non acnegenic.” This means it won’t clog up your pores or contribute to acne.


Sunscreen and cosmetics or makeup have a huge say in acne. These products contain ingredients that are harsh on the skin and the end results are not friendly you’re your pores will only enlarge.

Either discontinue the use of such products or choose organic products that won’t spoil your skin.
If you use hair spray or gel, try to keep them away from your face- especially your forehead. These products too can clog your pores and cause outbreaks like pimples, blackheads and whiteheads.

Here is another tip- eat healthy and drink lots of water. Water flushes out all toxins whilst green vegetables or healthy food give your body and skin the vitamins and minerals that you need. Avoid oily food and fried food. These foods will only worsen your condition. Try detoxing for a week or two and see the results.
