Hello brings a threat to Instagram. Is Insta ready for a photoshop?

A couple of decades ago, we didn’t think an application would mean so much to us. We would merely use the net to find answers or to browse through rowdy content but today we use a variety of social media applications to post and share about our day/ holiday.

If you’re a teenager and you’re socially active, you must be aware of Instagram- the platform that allows you to share, view and post photos and videos. After it was bought by Facebook, the application saw some changes but some users still feel they are being bombarded with irrelevant content.

To fight the monotony, Orkut pioneer Orkut Büyükkökten and a few former members of Google have executed an app called Hello Network.

Why did they decide to launch Hello network? Like mentioned above, users are being bombarded with irrelevant content that they’d rather do without. To solve this issue, Mr. Orkut and his team started experimenting with Hello and found a way to connect people with similar interests.

Hello networking is only available on mobile devices and the sign up process is pretty simple. You just need to enter your name, date of birth and gender. Upload a profile picture and select at least five interests of yours like sports, travelling, bollywood or whatever you like. You can connect with friends already using the platform or you can connect with people who share the same interest(s) as you. It is a great way of getting to know new people, sharing your hobbies and finding like-minded people. There have been a few cases where people also found the love of their lives.

Other benefits of Hello are: 1) You can send and receive messages

2) you can like pictures and share them (just like in Instagram)

3) editing your profile is easier

4) you can go through the posts that are local (near your location)

5) there’s a quick guide to help you drift around the application

6) You can tag your posts with relevant personas

7)you can also join communities like on LinkedIn

In a nutshell, the application is a simpler and better version of Instagram. Instagram will have to eiher step up its game or get knocked down by Hello.

What do you think?
